Connect Intercom

Connect Intercom as a knowledge source with an access token to sync Help Center articles and content snippets. Covers setup, sync cadence, and limits.

Configure the source at AI Training → Data Sources. Not the same place as the ticketing integration — this is knowledge only.

Set up the sync

1. Open Data Sources

   Go to AI Training → Data Sources.

2. Add an Intercom source

   Click Add source → Intercom.

   Field	Example	Where to get it
   Access token	dG9rOjVj…	Intercom Developer Hub → your app → Access Token. Needs read access to articles and content snippets. Can be the same token as the ticketing integration.
   Start date	2024-01-01T00:00:00Z	The form asks for one, but it doesn’t limit the sync: every published article and content snippet is synced.

3. Start the sync

   Click Connect. The first sync imports every published article and content snippet, usually within a few minutes.

4. Verify in AI Instructions

   Open AI Training → AI Instructions. Items appear under Intercom → Articles and Intercom → Content Snippets. If the folders are empty, see Troubleshooting.

Limits

Content synced	Published Help Center articles and content snippets
Languages	Each article’s default language; translations aren’t synced
Sync cadence	Daily, and right after you connect or save the source
Removals	Unpublished or deleted articles and deleted snippets are removed on the next sync
Credential type	Personal access token (no OAuth in this surface)
Conversations	Not synced
Multi-workspace	One Intercom workspace per connection
Selective scoping	None — every published article and content snippet the token can read is synced
